Matthew Antelmi Patone, a 25 year old Italian/Irish, New Yorker from Staten Island, who goes by the stage name "Kritikal", has the pop feel of black eye peas and the raspy sing rap style of Ja-Rule. Kritikal has been very busy spreading his music. From NY to MIA, he has been hard at work writing and performing. Kritikal cites a friendly disagreement with a long time friend over who could write the best rhymes as his initial reason for writing his first raps. "My friend was persistent that it wasn't easy to rap, I decided to prove him wrong and after writing a couple of verses, and getting all the good feedback that I did, I just stuck with it."
An inspiration to his music, his brother has really played a big role in many of the tracks found on each of his albums. He cites the many situations he's seen throughout his upbringing for the creative evolution of his music. His first song, called 'Verbally Vicious' was all about bragging about how much nicer he was at rapping than anyone else doing it. "After I listen to a song, I think how can I improve on this? And most times I just end up writing a new song." Since his first song 12 years ago, he's been the mastermind behind 5 full-length cd's.
Kritikal is focused on heavy touring along the north and southeast region coupled with online marketing and promotion.

With good fan/supporter turn outs at his performances and Kritikal's prior releases Rockstar (single) and DIAMOND IN THE DIRT (album) selling well on both amazon and itunes, he was offered and signed a distribution deal with the LA based Team Mash'N Entertainment/Universal Music Group the imprint label of 10 time multi-platinum producer Keith "Clizark" Clark.
The deal has been structured to distribute the "Miss NYC" single everywhere digital consumption is available (mobile, cable, satellite, internet, video on demand, etc...). With the resources of Universal Music Group (UMG) making sure the single is everywhere it needs to be nationally and soon after, internationally.
